BA will implement over 80 new interline links through 2007 with Amadeus.
Madrid, 8 May 2006: Airlines around the world continue to place their trust in Amadeus for the provision of electronic ticketing solutions. British Airways, which is hosted on the Amadeus e-Ticket Server*, has implemented electronic ticket interline links through Amadeus with 40 airlines, including all of its oneworld partners and most recently, Austrian Airlines, bmi, Kenya Airways, LOT Polish Airlines and Singapore Airlines. British Airways will also implement e-ticket interlining with an additional 80 new interline partners aided by Amadeus in the next two years.
Jerry Foran Product Delivery Manager at British Airways states, “Amadeus technology is playing an important role in our objective to achieve greater cost-effectiveness throughout our network. These new interline links will allow us to grow the number of routes on which our customers can travel using an e-ticket and help British Airways advance towards the 100% e-ticket target set by IATA for the end of 2007.”
Frédéric Spagnou, Vice President, Airline Business Group, Amadeus said, “This new agreement reinforces Amadeus e-Ticket Server as a proven solution that enables airlines to outsource their entire electronic ticket management. British Airways not only has the capacity to interline with the carriers that are hosted on e- Ticket Server, it can also easily establish interline links with any other airline on-demand, even if they are hosted on external systems.”
To date, Amadeus has implemented over 230 interline agreements for 38 carriers which are hosted on Amadeus e-Ticket Server and for 36 carriers hosted on external systems.
