Travel technology provider Amadeus and Jeju Air have extended its partnership with a multi-year distribution agreement. The partnership means Amadeus-enabled travel sellers will continue to have seamless access to the widest range of content from the largest low-cost carrier in South Korea through the Amadeus Travel Platform.
The partnership also advances the New Distribution Capability (NDC) journey of Jeju Air, with the carrier also ready to deploy Navitaire NDC Gateway. Signaling a step towards airline retailing, the solution is built on modern data exchange standards.
Jaepil Jung, Commercial Director at Jeju Air, explained: “Our continued collaboration with Amadeus allows us to better serve the regional and global travel trade and prepare for the future of distribution. As we continue to expand our operations, this partnership will help us meet the evolving needs of travelers.”
Jeju Air maintains a focus on strengthening its presence across the travel trade, enhancing distribution capabilities across north and south-east Asia. Travelers can also look forward to local promotions in selected markets.
Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Amadeus, said:“The extended partnership with Jeju Air reflects our shared goal of delivering value to travel sellers and travelers alike. The airline joins a growing number of low-cost carriers adopting Amadeus’ advanced NDCtechnology to reach travel sellers worldwide. By ensuring access to Jeju Air’s content, including fares, schedulesand group bookings, and by supporting the NDCroadmap, we are reinforcing Amadeus’ leadership in the region.
Launched in 2005, low-cost carrier Jeju Air has more than 3,000 employees, operating from hubs at Gimpo International Airport, Incheon International Airport and Jeju International Airport in South Korea.
