The airline will be the first carrier in North America, and the largest globally, to implement this leading revenue management solution
As airlines continue to explore how they can get closer to their customers and deliver offers that will address demand and increase profitability, revenue management is becoming increasingly important. Following the completion of its integration with Virgin America, Alaska Airlines has selected Amadeus as its revenue management partner with goals to further optimize revenue across its expanding multi-hub network. With this long-term contract, Alaska Airlines, the fifth largest carrier in the United States, becomes the first non-Altéa carrier, and the largest globally using Amadeus Revenue Management. It will start implementation of the state-of-the-art system in 2Q20.
Amadeus Revenue Management offers superior data quality, demand forecasting and scalability, resulting in a revenue increase for airlines. It also provides unparalleled fare family management, incorporating customer willingness to pay; and enables carriers to optimize their business processes.
Kevin Ger, Vice President, Revenue Management, Alaska Airlines, “At Alaska Airlines, we are proud to serve more than 46 million passengers on more than 40,000 flights each year. And as a leader in customer service and customer satisfaction, we need solutions that will enable us to consistently raise the bar. Implementing revenue management with Amadeus will help us achieve our goals to drive growth and improve our business processes.”
Elena Avila, Executive Vice President, Airlines, Americas, Amadeus, “This deal is a significant milestone for Amadeus, Alaska Airlines and the industry at large. Together, we are demonstrating how technology can help large carriers better understand passenger needs while improving company revenue, and doing so with robust and unmatched data capabilities. In Alaska Airlines we have a partner that not only understands the evolving landscape but also has a long-term commitment to innovate in order to stay ahead of the curve.”
This deal also showcases Amadeus’s increased focus and ability to make available this new technology for revenue optimization to any airlines regardless of their passenger service system.
