The new Amadeus Cruise Portal has rich content, more choice and enhanced technology to automate the sales process for travel professionals
While cruise lines continue to recover from the impact of COVID-19, consumer interest in sailing and the demand for cruise travel remains strong. Eight1 cruise lines have recently announced UK domestic sailings scheduled to start from May 2021.
To help travel sellers currently booking for 2021 and beyond, Amadeus has launchedAmadeus Cruise Portal
, which features rich multimedia content, enhanced functionality and the flexibility to dynamically package fly and cruise itineraries. This global solution is now available in the United Kingdom and Ireland, just in time for the highly anticipated restart and expansion of UK domestic itineraries as well as international sailings.
Using this tool, agents will have access to bookable content from 20+ leading cruise lines – including for the first time, river cruise companies – providing a comprehensive range of options available. Travel agents and cruise specialists will be able to upsell pre-and post-cruise content such as air, hotel, or transfers and easily offer cruise upgrades to boost revenues and efficiencies. The highly automated solution puts everything at the agents’ fingertips, enabling them to work in real-time from a single screen, eliminating the time-consuming practice of logging onto different websites, each with a different workflow.
Amadeus Cruise Portal integrates withAmadeus Selling Platform Connect
, which allows it to be accessed from anywhere on any internet connected device at any time. Features include easy cruise itinerary and offer comparisons, real-time pricing and a variety of multimedia content to inspire travelers. With just one click at any point in the booking process, travel agents can synchronise the booking with the cruise line which ensures accurate data at all times.
Jamie Loizou, Managing Director UK, AmaWaterways said, “We are excited about the arrival of Amadeus Cruise Portal in the UK and Ireland. Pent-up demand for river cruising is very strong and having our product within the Cruise Portal will make it easier for specialists and general travel agents to meet that demand. Over the past months we have been working behind the scenes on developing exciting new itineraries for 2023 including 11-night cruise and land packages on the Nile, five-night cruises on the Danube and our epic 46-night Seven River Journey across 14 countries. We can’t wait to welcome our guests and valued travel agent partners back on board our 25 beautiful ships very soon.”
Liz Emmott, UK General Manager, Amadeus added, “We have a long history of working closely with travel agents and cruise specialists in the UK and Ireland. Amadeus Cruise Portal is the latest and best shopping and booking solution we have brought to market and I am confident it will assist agents in showcasing the best of what the cruise industry has to offer. Whether experienced cruise bookers or just dipping a toe in the water, so to speak, Amadeus Cruise Portal has something to offer every kind of cruise booker.”
For travel agencies looking to reduce cost and save time in building their own customized application, Amadeus offers two more versions of the Cruise Portal – Standard White Label and Premium.
The Standard White Label version offers B2B and B2C booking environments, dynamic packaging for those who purchase air, customer branding, user and rules management, and cruise line preferencing. The Premium White Label offers all the features of the standard version, along with cruise groups management, exchange rate module as well as a payment gateway integration, all custom built.
Amadeus has teamed up with a leading global cruise travel technology provider, Odysseus Solutions to bring Cruise Portal to our customers. This enables the Amadeus Cruise Portal to deliver more content quickly and significantly shortens the implementation time.
