Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is one of the key levers for decarbonizing aviation1. SAF can significantly reduce lifecycle carbon emissions compared to conventional jet fuel. The travel industry is investing in SAF production and distribution, with technology companies supporting this transition through strategic investments in SAF innovators and by enabling the integration of SAF data and adoption into booking and reporting systems.
Sustainability in business travel starts with measurement. Corporate travel management platforms can track the carbon footprint of travel programs, provide detailed CO2 reports, and enable employees to compare travel options by emissions. Travel Impact Suite is Amadeus’ set of sustainability solutions that help measure, understand, compare, and reduce the environmental impact of travel by providing emissions data and compensation options across air, hotel, rail, and car. This allows travel providers, sellers and travelers to see and compare the emissions associated with their choices, identify more sustainable alternatives, and, where relevant, take action to compensate part or all of the remaining impact. The suite is delivered through three complementary components—Data Hub, Explorer, and Booster.
