At Amadeus, we’re here to make the experience of travel better for everyone, and that includes both the people and places we visit. This mindset of collective responsibility can have a transformative impact on the world, and it requires real and sustained effort.
I like digging into the details, so I’m always keen to find out: what have we accomplished this year? Let’s find out! Here’s a look at our top environmental, social, and governance milestones of 2025.
Since our launch of the Travel Impact Suite in 2024, it continues to expand with additional sources of emissions data so that our customers can choose the methodology that best suits their business. The Travel Impact Suite is expanding its data sources and will soon include emissions data from IATA CO2 Connect as well as travel IT provider SITA, helping passengers make more sustainable choices with more detailed information and greater transparency.
This used to be a niche topic but with all the AI buzz everybody knows that cloud and data processing can be very resource intensive. We recently launched a new internal CO2 calculator to improve our cloud resource usage, and we’ve adopted new ARM-based central processing units (CPUs) for intensive workloads that leverage the architecture’s strengths to further reduce our environmental impact and enhance energy efficiency.
Amadeus, BBVA, Repsol, and Telefónica, together with Iberia, are now part of an alliance working to decarbonize their business travel and cargo flights with SAF. In 2025, we also joined the GBTA Foundation Sustainability Initiative to further accelerate climate action in business travel.
This revalidation was undertaken following an update to our emissions calculation methodology, ensuring it more accurately reflects the current scope of our business. The revised approach now incorporates emissions from acquired companies, such as Vision Box and ICM, where hardware components are integral to operations. Additionally, we have enhanced our measurement ofenergy use to better represent the realities of hybrid working models. All these updates have been externally reviewed and validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reaffirming our commitment to robust and transparent sustainability practices.
Our work on environmental topics has led to recognition from reputable global publications such as TIME magazine:
We're achieving this with improved accessibility technology and a new alliance with the GBTA Foundation Accessibility Initiative aimed at making business travel more in-clusive. We are helping airports improve their customer service with self-service check-in devices and biometric technologies that meet the high ac-cessibility standards set by international bodies. For example, our self-service check-in kiosks have tactile buttons, adjustable text sizes, and screen-reader technology. We are also improving our workplace design and our corporate booking tool, Amadeus Cytric, with high-contrast colors and larger font sizes to make things easier to read, as well as improved keyboard navigation for those who cannot use a mouse because of motor disabilities.
This initiative aims to improve youth employment and promote inclusivity by providing young people with the skills and experience they need to launch successful careers in hospitality. Amadeus is committed to a long-term col-laboration as a global partner in the Alliance’s Employability Program across multiple countries.
It saw 365 of our employees volunteering to help 22 non-profit organizations with different projects all over the world. They did everything from designing websites, to improving SEO and CRM, to creating custom-built AI tools to help NGOs better accomplish their missions.

Amadeus conducted its first social impact measurement exercise, launching the social impact model in 2025. The goal was to track the real-world benefits of our digital upskilling programs. From 2023 to 2025, Amadeus Learning Services (teams dedicated to upskilling our customers' workforce), trained more than 153,000 industry professionals. In 2025 alone, we offered more than 970 e-learning certificates and upskilled 55,690 travel and tourism professionals, 20% of them were students aspiring to become travel agents. Through this learning offer we boost their skills, confidence, and career prospects - directly addressing the sector’s digital skills gap and supporting a more resilient, future-ready workforce.
As with our accomplishments in the environmental space, Amadeus has been recognized for its continued work to drive social impact. For example:
This program featured a dedicated ESG stream for the second year running, underscoring our commitment to embedding sustainability into every facet of our business. In 2025, teams developed three promising ideas focused on two of the industry’s most pressing challenges: fostering balanced tourism that benefits local communities, and improving the quality of sustainability data in the hospitality sector. These teams will continue to incubate and refine their solutions through May 2026, helping to drive meaningful progress for our industry and the communities we serve.
This recognition underlines our commitment to doing business with transparency and strong governance. These are values that build trust with our customers, partners, and communities.
This report follows the new guidelines of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. In addition to the Amadeus Global Report, these two documents provide a comprehensive review of Amadeus sustainability strategy and initiatives.
For our governance efforts, Amadeus has received global recognition from TIME magazine and Fair Tax:
As you can see, 2025 wasn’t just a year of ambition, it was a year of measurable progress. From deepening the accuracy of travel emissions data, to making travel more accessible to strengthening our governance foundations, these milestones reflect the kind of company we strive to be: transparent, responsible, and committed to shaping a more sustainable future for travel. While there’s still work ahead, we’re proud of the steps we’ve taken and energized for what comes next.
