At Amadeus, we believe travel is inherently transformative. It’s all about creating connections with new people and new places to challenge ourselves to see life from a new perspective. Travel is also a catalyst for positive impact, and as a global company with global reach, we believe it’s our collective responsibility to protect and improve the local communities where we live and work.

That’s why this year, we’re especially proud of the 365 volunteers who signed up for our Tech4Impact skills-based volunteering initiative during Amadeus Volunteer Month, which is a flagship initiative within our Community Impact program. These Amadeus employees applied their skills and expertise to help more than 22 non-profit organizations with 27 different projects all over the world.

Stories from the field: a global snapshot of our hackathon’s success

To make the most impact, Tech4Impact volunteers leveraged their expertise in travel and technology to help NGOs from all over the world with their technical challenges. NGO profiles varied from sustainable travel and environmental impact to digital inclusion and education, or crisis response and social impact, to employability in travel and technology.

That’s just a small slice of the different projects Amadeus Tech4Impact volunteers delivered.

Impact you can feel: what the non-profits told us

After Tech4Impact projects were delivered, the response from non-profit leaders was overwhelmingly positive.

“The level of engagement of the team members to the task was jaw dropping.”

Ludovic Hubler CEO, Travel With a Mission

“It was a great experience for us and we are extremely grateful to the team. They were always positive and solutions‑oriented, and the tools are truly user‑friendly. We would like to thank Amadeus for the solutions provided, they will help us expand our reach and inclusivity and accelerate our mission to advance Net Positive Hospitality globally. Thank you!”

A skills-based volunteering initiative designed for real-world impact

Our success was no accident - it was by design. Technical excellence is part of our DNA and we must thank our incredible engineering community and organizing team who worked together to design our initiative for maximum impact. We are also grateful to our global partner Tech To The Rescue involved in non-profit organization sourcing.

The Tech4Impact skills-based volunteering initiative significantly strengthened NGOs’ ability to accelerate their missions by providing high-quality digital solutions and technical expertise, resulting in both immediate operational improvements and lasting impact. According to survey results:

These outcomes highlight how the initiative empowered NGOs to expand their reach, enhance their capabilities, and deliver greater value to the communities they serve.

Making travel a force for good

At Amadeus, we believe travel is transformative, and Tech4Impact has shown what’s possible when we bring that belief to life. By working with organizations around the world, our volunteers demonstrated how technology and expertise can create real, positive change. Transformational impact means embedding sustainability into everything we do and ensuring travel remains a force for positive social and environmental change.

This is just one of the ways that we’re helping transform how travel works and shaping a more sustainable future for everyone.
