Why do you love to travel? Maybe it’s to spend time with loved ones, to catch up with long-lost family or friends, step out of the day to day to explore new places, or to challenge yourself to meet new people, discover new cultures, and new ways of life. After all, travel is all about building and nurturing human connections, and that’s why giving back is such an integral part of what we do at Amadeus.

As a flagship initiative within our Community Impact program, last autumn we rolled out the seventh edition of Amadeus Volunteer Month. Colleagues across the globe got together and partnered with local organizations to participate in hands-on and skills-based volunteering initiatives, showing that collective action can make a meaningful difference.

Our global Community Impact achievements in 2025

  • 4,400+ employees took part in Community Impact volunteering
  • 320+ activities rolled out worldwide across 51 countries
  • 233 organizations supported globally

In the spirit of continued transformation, for this edition we strengthened our focus on connecting our people’s unique skills and know-how to our positive impact efforts, thus matching our core business with the needs of local communities around the world.

In 2025, we launched three new global skills-based volunteering initiatives that connect our employees’ expertise with the areas where we can make the biggest long-term impact: advancing digital inclusion, building skills for jobs in travel and tourism, and supporting the resilience of destinations. These three pillars represent a deepened link between our Community Impact program and who we are as a company. We’re leaning into what makes Amadeus unique: our people, our technology, and our belief that travel can be a catalyst for positive impact.

Advancing digital inclusion

In today’s world, a fast internet connection, a good website, decent CRM, and smooth online workflows can scale up the reach and impact of a non-profit-organization (NGO).

  • Tech4Impact: Our global skills-based volunteering hackathon brought together 365 colleagues from our engineering community to support 22 NGOs with different technical projects. Working hand-in-hand with global and local NGOs, Amadeus engineers developed unique digital solutions specifically designed to meet their needs.
  • Cybersecurity volunteering initiative: With cybersecurity threats on the rise, over 200 colleagues were trained to work with NGOs and vulnerable groups in local communities to help them improve their digital safety.

Building skills for jobs in travel

Even in the most remote communities, travel and tourism can be a powerful driver of growth and inclusion. By enabling access to education and training for vulnerable groups and supporting skills development for people already working in this ever-evolving industry, we can empower locals and increase our collective impact, opening doors to meaningful employment and sustainable business opportunities.

  • Travel4Impact – Expert Support Experience: Through this initiative, Amadeus volunteers partnered with small travel impact businesses, providing entrepreneurs with tailored business insights, mentorship, and practical know-how to help them overcome challenges and amplify their positive impact. 55 Amadeus professionals supported 23 entrepreneurs, dedicating more than 330 hours to address key topics such as marketing and communications, partnerships and commercial strategies, and technology integration. Notably, 94% of surveyed entrepreneurs indicated that they plan to apply the advice received from volunteers within the next 6 months.
  • Improving youth employability with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (WSHA): In partnership with WSHA, we launched a program to help young people build skills for future jobs in hospitality. We ran a pilot in India, empowering over 200 students through a combination of mentoring, cybersecurity training, and job interview preparation. Amadeus volunteers played a key role by sharing their expertise and supporting students as they prepare for meaningful careers in the industry.

Supporting destinations

This year, we contributed to long-term community resilience through hands-on action around the world. Initiatives ranged from environmental efforts— such as beach cleanups and waste collections—to supporting food banks, organizing fundraisers, and donating computers. No matter the circumstances, our volunteers demonstrated passion and determination to make a meaningful difference in local communities.

I also love to travel to strengthen connections with my loved ones and to forge new relationships abroad. But each year, during Amadeus Volunteer Month, I’m reminded of how important it is to nurture our local communities and relationships back home too. We don’t actually need to travel the world to make a difference, especially when our workforce is already global.

Our collective positive impact last year reflects the passion and determination of Amadeus employees around the world: people who step up and demonstrate their commitment to making travel a force for good. Our Community Impact program and particularly Amadeus Volunteer Month continue to prove that when we unite around a shared purpose, we can ignite real change. Because every one of us has the power to #MakeaDifference, even in our own backyard.
