Under the new agreement, Global Air gains access to a range of advanced Amadeus technologies to develop innovative IT products and support growing travel demand
In many regions of the world, thanks to the rise in vaccination rates and controls designed to minimize the risk of coronavirus, there has been a gradual recovery in air travel and an increase in the number of trips that people are making. According toAmadeus commission research , 97% of travelers globally say technology will allow them to travel more confidently. Despite the challenges, there are also opportunities. For example, expert support will be required to help travelers navigate entry requirements and regulations, as well as manage unforeseen itinerary changes and be able to provide alternative travel options in the event of disruption.
One of the leading business and leisure travel companies in Kazakhstan and Central Asia,Global Air and Amadeus, a leading provider of IT solutions for the global travel and tourism industry, announce a new multi-year agreement.
Under the new agreement, Global Air gains access to a range of advanced Amadeus technologies to develop innovative IT products and support growing travel demand. Thanks to the deal, Global Air plans to expand its travel offerings, automate business processes, including those related to airline ticket exchanges and refunds, and provide new booking and information support capabilities for its customers.
Global Air has already begun implementing Amadeus Web Services technology, which provides access to air content from the Amadeus Travel Platform. This includes access to fares for scheduled flights of more than 400 airlines, including Russian and CIS region carriers (Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, S7, Air Astana, Uzbekistan Airways etc.). The Amadeus Travel Platform offers access to a wide range of air and non-air content (accommodation, car rental, rail etc.) through any channel - online and offline, enabling travel sellers and buyers to easily search, book and service travel options from suppliers both using Amadeus' own solutions or developed by third parties based on Amadeus Web Services.
In addition to a wide selection of air content, Global Air customers will be able to book additional services from over 170 airlines, such as checked baggage, onboard meals, and preferred seat selection. Usually, it is more expensive and time-consuming for travelers to purchase these ancillary services at the airport. A variety of travel options and convenient ways of online purchasing will be provided for all Global Air’ clients, whether they are located in Kazakhstan or anywhere else in the world. The agency's branch network continues to expand and today covers such cities as Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Atyrau, Aksai, Aktobe, Shymkent and Uralsk. More than 350 international and national companies are serviced under corporate contracts with the agency.
Danil Shklovsky, Deputy CEO, Global Air,said: "We see that our customers rely more and more on our support. The latest Amadeus technology will help us become more flexible and efficient. This includes the development of new travel products and services as well as achieving cost optimization. By doing so, Global Air will maintain its traditionally high quality and uniform standards of service for both leisure and business travel. We are delighted to extend our strategic cooperation with Amadeus which dates back more than 20 years”.
Oleg Leschenko, Head of BTA, Russia and CIS, Amadeus, commented: "Global Air has a very experienced and highly professional team of software developers. By introducing advanced Amadeus Web Services technology, we are helping to strengthen Global Air's competitiveness by laying the foundation for future growth. The company is moving to a next level of automation, accessing a variety of travel content through a single tool to build any type of trip, manage changes and be proactive in supporting the traveler during the whole journey”.
In the next stage of the renewed and expanded partnership, Global Air will implement Amadeus Hotels, which makes available millions of offers from large hotel chains, independent hotels, aggregators and boutique hotels located all around the world.
