Through collaboration with the global technology provider, the Kingdom’s leading budget airline is stepping up its travel agency distribution strategy

flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing low-cost airline, has signed a new global distribution agreement with Amadeus. The global travel technology provider will become the preferred provider for the low-cost carrier, with content distributed to travel sellers worldwide through the Amadeus travel platform, giving travel agents access to the airline’s growing network of flights.

Beginning with the domestic Saudi market, flyadeal will implement a phased rollout of its content on the platform to the trade in more countries over the next few months. Once completed, the full range of flyadeal content will be available to view and book on the Amadeus platform.

flyadeal now operates over 200 daily scheduled services from bases in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam to more than 30 year-round and seasonal destinations across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and South Asia with a fleet of 42 Airbus A320 aircraft.By 2030, the airline’s fleet and network will more than triple in size.

"Signing up with Amadeus is a historic step for flyadeal. GDS connection expands distribution of our inventory of flights and fares, and offers the wider travel agency community with instant access, convenience and booking capability through their desktop terminals.

Having scaled our operations over the years, building a strong domestic network of flights and increasingly moving into international operations, our business has evolved into more partnerships, including travel agencies which we see as a vital part of our growth story to complement our own direct booking channels."

Steven Greenway Chief Executive Officer, flyadeal

Amadeus offers access to a wide range of travel content across a unique distribution platform based on open technology. It allows connected agents to offer travelers even more choice, providing the best options based on schedule, price, convenience, comfort, flexibility or sustainability needs.

More than 170 low-cost or hybrid carriers are currently relying on the Amadeus travel platform to expand their reach, access high-yield travelers and provide seamless post-booking services, when needed, via the travel sellers.

"Amadeus is a key stakeholder within the Middle East travel ecosystem and with this new collaboration we will support flyadeal in achieving its strategic growth ambitions. This preferred global distribution agreement is a vote of confidence in Amadeus’ global network of travel sellers, who will now have unrivalled access to content."

Maher Koubaa Executive Vice President Travel Unit and Managing Director EMEA, Amadeus

Early this year, flyadeal joined the airline industry body IATA, which has over 60,000 accredited travel agencies worldwide.
