Viva announces enhanced collaboration with Amadeus including new NDC-sourced offers

Amadeus and Viva, Mexico's ultra-low-cost airline, announced the expansion of their distribution agreement. This enhanced collaboration will now include access to the airline’s NDC-sourced offers and a full range of merchandising offers via EDIFACT technology.


This significant development means that the content available for Amadeus travel sellers will be enriched and expanded significantly, including Viva’s merchandising content, bundles, ancillaries, and seat selection, which will enhance the travel booking experience.


This partnership underscores Amadeus's vision to transform its traditional GDS into an unmatched marketplace that draws together content from across the entire travel ecosystem, regardless of type, source and technology used - offering flexibility and choice to travel sellers and travelers alike.


The NDC technology and standardized messaging opens new opportunities for low-cost airlines. It allows for enhanced digital experiences, personalized journeys from start to finish, and dynamically built and price-tailored offers – regardless of the sales channel that customers might choose. With the Amadeus NDC capabilities, Viva will benefit from extended distribution power and reach by effectively launching new products and boosting ancillary sales to the travel seller community.
