As part of its rapid expansion from its main Rome – Fiumicino hub, the airline will benefit from distribution via the Amadeus Travel Platform, to enhance connectivity and extend the airline’s reach through new interlining and codeshare capabilities. The new distribution agreement with Amadeus is designed to target the business travel market in Italy and Romania. Aeroitalia’s competitively priced and corporate traveler-friendly content is now available within the travel agencies’ preferred booking channel.
Aeroitalia, launched in 2022, is currently undergoing a period of rapid development and will utilize the new opportunities offered by the platform, enabling its content to the corporate travel market on its expanding multifrequency network.
“As we grow our route network in Italy, including Sardinia, and Sicily markets, and reinforce our position in Europe, we are partnering with Amadeus to accelerate our strategy to deliver dedicated content tailored to our corporate customers. Aeroitalia prides itself on providing high frequency services at affordable fares and we are excited to announce the successful launch of this new agreement.”
Krassimir Tanev CCO, Aeroitalia
The new agreement will see Aeroitalia implement Amadeus Ticket Server, a central ticketing server, e-ticket server and e-ticketing network, which will all be integrated into the airline’s PSS. The solution will offer the airline the technology needed to develop interline and codeshare partnerships, creating a smoother travel experience for connecting passengers.
“The decision of Aeroitalia to use the Amadeus Travel Platform illustrates the range of technology we can offer our airline customers as a carrier’s needs evolve. With this change, Aeroitalia will be able to become a ticketing carrier and have an opportunity to benefit from interline and codeshare partnerships for the first time through the Amadeus Travel Platform. This will result in a greater range of opportunities for both travel sellers and travelers in Italy and elsewhere.”
Ernest Roda SVP Commercial, Airlines, Western Europe, Amadeus
