Long term collaboration enhances Italo’s rail services through 2030

Rome, Italy and Minneapolis, MN USA: Italo, Italy’s premier private high-speed rail operator, has renewed its long-standing partnership with Navitaire, an Amadeus company. The renewal underscores Italo’s confidence in Navitaire’s industry-leading New Skies® reservations and retailing platform.


Operating in one of Europe’s most competitive rail markets, Italo continues to lead with a focus on flexibility, efficiency and digital transformation. The renewal marks a significant milestone, expanding retailing capabilities with state-of-the-art APIs and pricing optimization tools.


In addition, new features have been developed, and others are being designed together with Italo for rapid implementation, making the system increasingly flexible and ensuring easy integration with other transportation carriers, new products, and additional services, all with a reduced time to market.

About Italo

Italo is Italy’s first private high-speed rail operator (italospa.italotreno.it). Its current fleet includes 25 AGV 575 trains and 26 Italo EVO trains, the next-generation evolution of the iconic “Pendolino” family.


Since May 2023, Italo has expanded its intermodal offering by acquiring Itabus, a leading private long-distance coach operator. This integration enables seamless train + bus journeys with a single ticket, as well as coach-only connections—linking the whole of Italy, from major cities to charming tourist villages and key transport hubs, with routes extending beyond national borders.


With its fleet, Italo delivers travel designed around comfort, personalized services, and rich onboard experiences—tailored to the needs of every kind of traveler. Three dedicated travel environments are available: Smart, offering outstanding quality at competitive fares; Prima Business, created for those who value comfort and attentive service while on the move; and Club Executive, an exclusive setting for the most discerning passengers.

Onboard, complimentary internet access is available in every class. Through the Wi-Fi connection, passengers can access ItaloLive, the onboard portal offering a wide range of entertainment including free movies, newspapers, e-books, and much more. Italo’s network spans the country from North to South, serving 59 stations across 51 cities, with 120 daily services.
