Amadeus has renewed and expanded its distribution agreement with Virgin Australia, which will see the airline make its offering available to connected travel sellers around the world through EDIFACT and in the future, NDC channels. Content from the Australian airline will be fully integrated into travel sellers’ preferred booking environments which can include Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Travel API, or the Amadeus self-booking tool for corporations, Cytric Easy.
Sandra Da Cruz-Brits, General Manager Distribution, Virgin Australia, said: “We are pleased to announce today our enhanced distribution agreement with the travel technology leaders at Amadeus. Over the past decade we have expanded our partnership and now look forward to deepening it further as Virgin Australia accelerates its transition to the world of modern airline retailing.”
The expanded partnership means Virgin Australia is collaborating with Amadeus across a suite of solutions for airlines and airports as well as loyalty and distribution.
Lance Batty, Regional Director Airlines, South Pacific, Amadeus, said: “Our multi-year agreement with Virgin Australia builds on over a decade of continuous partnership with the innovative carrier. We welcome the opportunity to work with the airline to improve its travel retailing offering, with a relationship that now encompasses IT solutions, loyalty, distribution and more.”
Launched in 2000, Virgin Australia is today one of the largest carriers in the country, known for its focus on customer experience and ambition to be Australia’s most loved airline. Virgin Australia offers a comprehensive network of domestic and short haul international destinations.
