I think we all know that travel plays a crucial role in all our lives - it builds economies, it broadens culture, and it creates connections between societies, while having a positive impact on local communities around the world.
The effect of COVID-19 over the last two years has been simply devastating and we’ve needed to support each other more than ever. This is why I’ve been so proud of the thousands of Amadeus employees who have stepped up to make a difference in the communities where we work and live, through theAmadeus VolunteerDay.
Theaim of the Amadeus Volunteer Day is to channel our employees’ solidarityand skillsto make a difference, byworkingtogether and making a positive impact in the communities where Amadeus is present around the globe.
Despite the challenges around the world, Amadeus employees decided to volunteer their time throughout the past couple of months to make a difference. Given our numbers and global social footprint, it would be no understatement to say that collectively, the Amadeus employees have done a world of good.
Iwasincredibly movedthis yearto see that more than 70 individual Amadeus sites participated inourAmadeus Volunteer Day this year – that’s more than ever before.
From Costa Rica to the U.S, andfromJapan to SouthAfrica, Amadeusemployees around the world participated in a great variety of virtual and face-to-face activities. Many sites came together to clean up their natural environments and protect local biodiversity.
From Spain to Germany, and from France to India, we brought creativity and solidarity to local communities, with sustainability hackathons, green awareness workshops, repurpose waste initiatives, and education activities such as mentoring students.
Making an impact in the communities we work and live is something we are all proud of in Amadeus. Everything that we do in CSR makes an impact because of our people. Coming together as one - we can achieve extraordinary things that make a real difference. This year, we’ve shown that more than ever we are part of the change we want to see, and that bringing about positive impact is something we all take to heart. I’m incredibly inspired by this dedication to drive change. After such a success in our third annual Amadeus Volunteer Day, I can’t wait to see what we accomplish next year.
We know that by harnessing the power of our people and technology we can achieve extraordinary things and make a tangible difference. This year, we’vedemonstratedonce again that Amadeus employees take our company’s commitment togeneratingpositive impactto heart.
Join us to increase our collective positive impact and to help #RebuildTravel!
