There’s something soothing about traveling by rail. And few make the experience as comfortable as France’s national railway company, SNCF. Thanks to a new expanded distribution agreement with SNCF, Amadeus will help more travelers than ever before to book a trip with the French national railway.
Together, Amadeus andSNCF will simplify access to SNCF’s offer for travelers across the world. The move will expand access to SNCF rail content, including Thalys and Eurostar products, to travel agencies beyond Europe for the first time. From January 2019, agents in important markets such as Middle East & Africa, North America or Asia Pacific will be able to access and book SNCF’s full range of fares through Amadeus.
Fabien Soulet, Director of Business Travel, Corporate and Travel Agencies, SNCF highlighted: “Our sales through travel agencies are continually increasing in Europe, with Amadeus as the main IT distribution partner. Overseas customers are a growing market for TGV: traveling with high speed trains is regarded as an unmissable experience Europe. Amadeus will help us to increase our reach in these regions, this is an exciting new feature of our partnership.”
It will also make it easier for travel agencies to book SNCF tickets alongside air, hotel, and car rentals. Best of all, it will make the traveler experience simpler with a single itinerary. This will address one of the key request of high-speed rail travelers: the ability to book more products through more channels
As rail is a more and more convenient option for business travelers, this agreement will ensure SNCF fares are easily available through a range of channels including business & leisure offline as well as online travel agencies or self-booking tools, such asAmadeus cytric Travel & Expense or any external self-booking tool.
This agreement follows the successful rollout of Amadeus Rail Display to travel agencies in France, including latest features such as access to regional trains (TER) and a seat map, and is happening amidst an exciting time for the rail industry as it prepares for deregulation in Europe. We’re happy to renew our 20 year partnership with SNCF as we work together to enhance its competitive position and the traveler experience.
