In recent interviews with travel sellers, it was revealed that improving the end-to-end traveler experience is one of the main business priorities for them. The hyperconnected traveler expects a seamless, integrated experience from the moment they start planning their trip until they return home.

. This research examined investment plans across different travel sectors. For instance, for almost half of travel sellers (59% of Online Travel Agencies, 55% of Leisure Travel Agencies and 49% of Business Travel Agencies) their top technology investment objective is to improve customer experience.
Our research revealed a strong appetite for investment across the travel sector in 2024. Last year, travel agencies were planning to increase investment in technology by 13%. This investment is crucial to improve the traveler experience across the travel ecosystem. This includes personalized recommendations, real-time assistance, and streamlined processes that reduce friction at every touchpoint. By addressing these challenges, travel sellers aim to provide an exceptional experience that not only meets but exceeds the demands of the hyperconnected traveler.

According to recent Amadeus research in Spain, 38% of travel insiders are interested in using it to find deals on flights, hotels, and rental cars, 37% for in-destination activities and recommendations, and 34% for travel itinerary management. Additionally, 40% of Business Travel Agencies in the latest Travel Technology Investment Trends report consider Generative AI the most important short-term technology.
