Creating connections is at the heart of everything we do at Amadeus, allowing our partners to collaborate whoever they are and wherever they may be.
One of the key tools we use to do this is theAmadeus Live Travel Community , a rapidly developing forum focused on our products and solutions, as well as other industry topics.
The Amadeus Live Travel Community is made available for free, both to our global customers and to other travel users, so they can get support from trusted peers, exchange knowledge, be recognized for their expertise and create connections with colleagues wherever they are.
Launched late 2018 to just a small handful of pilot travel agencies, the forum has grown organically in its initial phases, fostering a global community of travel expert users. Today, it has upward of 50,000 registered members, with more than 400 users connecting each day to discover information in 11 languages.
But this is just the beginning.
Amadeus Live Travel Community is open to everybody, wherever they are in the world. This means all of our customers, as well as the wider travel community, can get advice, help or knowledge from their peers and win recognition for their expertise.
Community
Amadeus Live Travel Community is free to access and available 24/7 to the travel professionals. Here, members can search existing content, ask questions, comment, vote, start discussions and follow topics and members of interest. Through the forum, Amadeus puts our customers in contact with each other, providing members with an additional channel to get advice and support when they need it. At the same time, we foster the exchange of ideas between our forum members as we work to develop those all-important connections and a sense of community.
At the same time, Amadeus Live Travel Community allows us to listen to our customers, gaining insight into developing issues, pain points, ways of working, best practices and even ideas for the evolutions of our products and solutions.
In return, we give our customers a chance to show their expertise and get recognized for it through online certifications shared on social media. For example, this year we are for the first time building a group of brand advocates through the Amadeus Live Travel Community Expert program, with members set to be invited to participate in reviews and take seats on industry panels.
Accessibility
Accessibility is at the heart of the Amadeus Live Travel Community.
Internet searches can be overwhelming, for example, with over 500 million URLs available today. As a result, it might not always easy to find trusted answers quickly and efficiently. The forum is a place hosted and moderated by Amadeus, designed to allow our customers to search, ask or answer travel industry related questions. Users have the confidence they are interacting with confirmed travel professionals.
As only Amadeus customers can create content, you can be sure forum members know what they are talking about.
While published Information on the forum is mostly open to the public, sensitive information can be restricted to the community or to a specific user group. Public content is searchable by major search engines and readable without the need of a log in while keeping all sensitive information anonymized. This means Amadeus is sharing some of the knowledge generated by Amadeus Live Travel Community with the rest of the industry.
Looking Ahead
The expansion of the Amadeus Live Travel Community is another step on our journey to digitalization, as we work to provide our partners with a free, always available channel for support and knowledge exchange from trusted equals. Amadeus empowers our customers by giving them new ways to upskill, to show and get recognized for their expertise and to benefit from a deepening relationship with us.
The forum is already live – and customers can register here . Users who are not yet Amadeus customers will be able to browse the content and better understand how we would be able to support them if they were to join our growing ecosystem.
As Amadeus Live Travel Community continues to develop, we are working to add new features to further improve the user experience. In the coming months, we will be adding new ‘expert groups’ whilst observing the usage of the new machine translation functionality applied this January, a “never seen before” modern improvement for Business-to-Business forum.
