Examples of successful collaboration are all around us. Think of how a film is created, drawing on the diverse talents of directors, actors, writers, cinematographers, and editors. A number of unconnected organizations and people rallying around a common vision. By coming together, we can become more than the sum of our parts.
Travel technology is no different. Better travel starts when the industry is better connected, working together to create the best outcome for every journey.
No single entity in our industry possesses all of the necessary skills to tackle every step of the journey or build all of the technology required for every process. Instead, by leveraging the strengths and expertise of diverse partners, we are able to unlock new opportunities, drive innovation and deliver unparalleled value to travelers, worldwide.
So, how do we bring these ideas to life? In 2021, we launched the partner portal , a business-wide scheme designed to create and orchestrate an ecosystem of partners.
Open to companies of all sizes, from start-ups through to corporations, the program has practical benefits. For example, it has streamlined and standardized many of the old processes involved in sourcing, onboarding and contracting, generating efficiencies that enable us to better manage the partner lifecycle and monitor the value they generate.
Partners play an important role in bringing outside expertise and technology, as well as granting access to difficult-to-obtain resources which provide shortcuts for us to enhance our product competences and innovate beyond our current capabilities.
But the Amadeus partner program also has a more ambitious goal. By coming together to enhance the traveler experience, working with partners who share a commitment to customer-centricity, we can develop tailored solutions that meet evolving traveler needs and preferences, fostering loyalty and driving repeat business.
By working together in this way, the Amadeus partner ecosystem helps us create a better-connected travel industry. We can foster innovation in search of an improved traveler experience, while an enhanced partner ecosystem can significantly develop the traveler journey, from booking right through to post-trip.
This is a partnership program that helps stakeholders from across the travel technology space, and beyond, access, integrate with or build solutions on top of Amadeus’ existing technology. Members have a chance to expand their portfolio of solutions, leveraging our go-to-market channels to deliver a stronger value proposition for common customers.
The model is ideal for independent software vendors, for example, or original equipment manufacturers, SaaS providers, platform companies or businesses that provide software solutions for travel and travel-related industries. We have also worked with tech providers who offer complementary APIs to Amadeus’ existing portfolio and payment technology companies who offer innovative solutions to the travel industry.
The key lies in the diversity and depth of partnerships within the travel industry ecosystem. By uniting with partners ranging from startups to established enterprises, we aim to harness collective expertise, resources, and innovation to drive positive change and enhance every aspect of the traveler journey.
By fostering collaboration and innovation across our partner ecosystem, Amadeus and partners can unlock new opportunities, drive positive change, and redefine the future of travel for generations to come.
As we have seen, a key to the success of the Amadeus partner ecosystem is its openness to partners of all sizes. For example, HSBC , one of the largest banks in the world, recently partnered with Outpayce to help airlines price fares in travelers’ preferred currency. At the same time, Volantio has integrated its Yana platform with Amadeus to proactively identify flexible passengers on full flights and provide them with an incentive (such as frequent flyer miles, travel vouchers or upgrades) to voluntarily move to lower demand departures.
Elsewhere, Imperva has integrated its expertise in web application firewalls (WAF) and application security with Amadeus Advanced Managed Services to deliver secure, seamless, and satisfying experiences to travel players. Together, we can now offer a holistic, flexible, and robust security service, one covering the entire digital journey.
These are just a handful of the numerous examples of collaboration that drive us forward each day. As an industry, we can only progress by working together. By being more responsive, more creative.
By uniting with organizations from across industries, the Amadeus partner ecosystem aims to unlock new opportunities for travelers everywhere.
