What does Lufthansa City Center International and Amadeus have in common with the band members of Guns n’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Metallica? We’ve been working together for more than 30 years.
That’s nothing to scoff at. It takes a lot of collaboration, innovation and creativity to make a 30-plus year relationship last, and, those are three things that Amadeus excels at.
That’s why I’m proud to announce the renewal of our global marketing agreement with Amadeus as our preferred travel technology partner for another five years.
With 240 locations across 93 countries, Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI) is one of the world’s largest travel agency franchise systems, and we have ambitions that match our size.
When we look for technology partners, we’re looking for a company that can deliver many different solutions, and that can adapt to our needs as we evolve. We need a distribution partner that can serve all of our leisure and business travel customers as we book everything from flights to car rentals, transfers, destination services, hotels, payments and more. And finally, our agents can’t be limited to one distribution channel, they need to look for content across all channels, to make sure our travelers get the best value and the best overall travel experience we can find. This also means that LCCI is committed to NDC, and it is of utmost importance to us that we can access, book and service this content in the most efficient way, in order to unlock the opportunities it can bring for us and our customers.
That’s why Amadeus is the perfect partner as we expand our growth strategy to be even more ambitious. With this renewed partnership, LCCI will be able to provide a true end-to-end traveler experience by selling air and accommodation content. Agents will be able to search and book everything on one single interface making it easier for LCCI agents to deliver excellent customer service while maximizing revenues.
A key highlight for me is the expansion of LCCI into the hotel space. Amadeus and LCCI have agreed to enlarge our joint hotel portfolio with Amadeus Hotels, so that we may offer travelers better hotel deals and full-service travel bookings across all channels.
A big draw for us is the fact that Amadeus Hotels can be accessed in the way that works best for international LCC agencies: through many different channels. This agreement will give LCCI agents access the breadth and depth of content that they need to meet evolving traveler demands. With Amadeus Value Hotels, LCCI agents will be able to access net rates from more than 500,000 properties with a simple-to-navigate harmonized booking flow. For each booking, agents will be able to decide mark-up rates, providing the flexibility they need to develop travelers loyalty whilst maximising revenues.
In addition, we’re excited to embark on a new adventure with Amadeus: as a new member of theTravel Innovation Club , we will be collaborating closely to shape the future of travel and explore new possibilities in our ever-evolving industry.
LCCI’s focus on individual, tailor-made customer products for both leisure and corporate travelers allows us to combine flexibility and innovation to provide a comprehensive service portfolio. With Amadeus, we’re confident that we will be able to take our business to the next level, hopefully for another 30 years. If the Rolling Stones can do it, why can’t we?
