We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
Tomas López Fernebrand
SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Amadeus
Sustainability is a guiding force in everything we do as a business. This calling has earned Amadeus a place amongst the most sustainable companies in the world. But we realize there is more to do in environmental, economic, social, and governance practices to secure a sustainable future.
That is why I’m pleased to announce the renewal of our partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Amadeus will continue to work with the UNWTO towards a sustainable, resilient, and vibrant travel and tourism sector as outlined in itsSustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This long term partnership will reinforce existing and build new models of collaboration to foster digitalization of the industry and drive social and environmental sustainability.
Some of the initiatives we are already working together on include supportingsmart tourism destination programs, fostering the travel innovation startup community, andmeasuring CO2 footprints in collaboration with other trade associations. We’ve also supported social development projects focused on promoting women in tourism research. This is just the beginning and over the next few years there will be many more innovative sustainability projects.
