For decades, travel technology has been designed around people specialized in travel tech: navigating screens, reading documentation, using workflows, making decisions and completing tasks.

That model is evolving as AI assistants and agents support more tasks, from writing code to running processes and preparing analysis.

This creates an opportunity to rethink how travel technology, content and services can be accessed and used in more AI-native workflows, making trusted travel intelligence more accessible and easier to interact with through emerging AI experiences.

Through its collaboration with Anthropic, Amadeus is advancing its work with AI agents in travel for two user groups: developers and travel professionals.

Bringing trusted travel intelligence to developers

Developers are already changing how they work, using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code to describe what they want to build and to help write, test and assemble applications.

For travel technology, the question is how to make application development simpler, more intuitive and better supported by trusted content.

Amadeus is working to make its connectivity, documentation, authentication and travel content available through a single toolkit for AI-enabled development environments. The ambition is to make it easier for developers and their AI coding assistants to access the resources they need, reducing time spent navigating portals, reference guides and integration requirements.

It is a natural evolution from the traditional developer portal, giving Claude Code users access to a wide range of reliable, real-time Amadeus travel content, directly within their development environment, using natural language to discover capabilities, build prototypes and accelerate application development, starting with flight and destination content.

Empowering travel professionals with AI

The same shift is reaching travel professionals, as agentic tools such as Claude Cowork create new ways to work faster and support more informed decisions.

Amadeus is working to make its skills and connectivity available through a Claude Cowork plugin, bringing selected Amadeus applications closer to where users work. This reflects Amadeus’ open approach: enabling trusted travel intelligence to be accessed through the tools and environments people choose, rather than requiring users to move between closed systems.

The objective is to go beyond surfacing data, enabling users to access information, conduct research, draft content, analyze data and take action across Amadeus systems in plain language, within broader AI-powered workflows.

By opening these capabilities in a controlled way, Amadeus can help travel professionals benefit from AI while keeping decisions, safeguards and oversight firmly in the hands of users and their organizations.

This work builds on real-world experimentation, with a successful Claude Enterprise pilot recently completed at Amadeus and ongoing assessments of future deployment options.

Looking ahead

These initiatives form part of Amadeus’ strategic response to a broader shift in how people build and use software as AI agents become more capable.

For Amadeus, this is an opportunity to combine trusted travel intelligence, industry expertise and AI technologies in a broader ecosystem that can help organizations build, deploy and scale travel solutions more easily.

With our status as a system-of-record for travel, our deep integration across the travel industry, our global production scale, and our responsible AI approach backed by strong governance and strategic partnerships, Amadeus is well placed to help the industry embrace AI agents with integrity and trust, making travel technology more accessible, intuitive and reliable.
