Amadeus is honoured to be chosen by Orient Thai Airlines as their first global distribution system partner, supporting their transformation and growth. Orient Thai will now distribute its fares, schedules and availability through the widest network of global travel agents via the Amadeus GDS.

The low-cost carrier expects to increase its fleet size within 5 years, and plans to transport 5 million passengers in the next 3 years via new routes between Bangkok and Singapore, Taipei, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Orient Thai joins the ranks of 478 other airlines that are bookable via the Amadeus system and this agreement is another step forward in our commitment to bring LCC content to our travel agency subscribers.

Currently, the LCC operates routes between Bangkok and Nanjing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Nanning, Changsha, Nanchang and Hong Kong, and between Phuket and Nanning, Chengdu, Chongqing and Xi'an. The airline carried 610,000 passengers in 2014.

Today, over 70 low-cost and hybrid carriers are bookable in the Amadeus system while over 80% of Amadeus bookings worldwide are made on airlines with which Amadeus has a content agreement.
