We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
Our partnership with Amadeus will help us move from a reactive, inflexible approach to IT to a far more proactive position by delivering a next generation, cloud-based solution that manages the entire check-in process.
ACUS makes use of application virtualisation, allowing passenger-processing systems to be accessed and deployed anywhere, on demand, whether from a PC, laptop, or mobile device. We will now be able to board passengers from any location, essentially eliminating lengthy queues and minimising the effect on travellers in cases of disruption.
The systems we are implementing are advanced and reliable and underpin our overall modernisation programme. The investment in technology is aligned with the AUD$1 billion overall transformation of Perth Airport’s infrastructure. Between this delivery of new infrastructure and technology, Perth Airport is moving toward becoming one of Australia’s most forward thinking, versatile and customer focused airports.
ACUS allows us to cut passenger processing costs by 26% for our airline customers and that is core to our proposition. We will be able decrease CO2 emissions and significantly improve the traveller experience by making check-in location independent.
The flexibility to introduce more automation will benefit all airport players as we look to next generation facilities such as self-bag drop and auto boarding. In the longer term, the Amadeus Airport Common Use Service provides us with the agility to roll out these next generation services with a lower cost of investment, thus reducing operational expenses and improving profits.
We’re proud to be the first airport in Asia Pacific to use this cutting edge technology and we look forward to working with Amadeus to further enhance the passenger experience at Perth Airport.
