We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
Global Head of Corporation Solutions, Amadeus
There was much discussion about the new report issued by the Global Business Travel Association at its convention in Boston. The headline: business travel was responsible for $547 Billion in U.S. GDP in 2016. It’s clear that for travel players, the U.S. market is rich in new opportunities for growth and expansion. Technology will be the engine powering this growth.
At the convention, which is the world’s largest business travel event, I talked to many different stakeholders. My message was that Amadeus is empowering organizations and individuals alike to make travel a simple, enjoyable, stress-free and rewarding experience.
This starts with traveler centricity, which was a hot topic at the convention. Many attendees referred it as the key pillar for adoption. Mobility with services provided in a consistent way across devices and channels (e.g. travel apps, expense systems) was seen as key in this respect.
Amadeus cytric Travel & Expensefits the bill perfectly with its responsive design, and integration into business applications like Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce.
Of course, no business travel convention would be complete without talk about emerging technologies. Here, voice and chat bots ruled. We are responding by deploying the latest in self-service, mobile and digital technologies to the benefit of corporations. Business travelers consist of Gen X, Y, Millennials, and soon to be Gen Z, and this requires an intelligent and dynamic approach to travel by harnessing emerging technologies.
We care about business travelers and are committed to creating better journeys through innovation. We also know that managing an effective corporate travel programme can be daunting. This is why attending the GBTA Convention is so important. It provides us with a new perspective of the painful parts of the process so we can help business travelers have a smooth and rewarding experience.
GBTA Boston was a great experience and I hope that attendees saw that technology is key in helping manage every step of the business travel process. Check out this video to see more about how we’re doing this.
