The fifth and final part of our futurist video series sees Professor James Woudhuysen discuss the transition of airlines in the last seven years.

The 2010 Oxford Economics report commissioned by Amadeus, The Travel Gold Rush 2020, predicted that the most significant travel trend was a shift in arrivals to the Asia-Pacific region which would account for nearly 22% of arrivals by 2020.

Professor Woudhuysen says that this prediction was correct and that Asia-Pacific is indeed the emerging market having the biggest impact on the airline industry today.

Have western airlines adapted to these trends? Check out the full video to find out this and more!

Editor’s note: We asked futurist James Woudhuysen to review and comment on some of our past research and give his take on future trends in a five part video series

produced in celebration of our 30th anniversary.
