Gustave Eiffel’s technological and artistic masterpiece – the Eiffel Tower – is 125 years old and welcomes nearly 7 million visitors a year, 75% of whom are foreigners. But just where exactly are the Parisians who live with the tower every day travelling?

According to data from our Amadeus Master Pricersolution – the most searched route in February 2014 regardless of travel date was Paris – New York followed by Paris – Bangkok. The most searched route for travel in February 2014 was not too different from the aforementioned with Paris – Bangkok being the most popular followed by Paris – New York.

Perhaps it’s the chic Parisians planning a trip to NYC for fashion week in September 2014 searching for travel options far in advance that have influenced the first metric. The second metric is more easily explained by the weather in Paris vs Bangkok in February (5 c vs. 33 c).
