The 3rd edition of the KPMG and El Confidencial best business practices awards were held last week in Madrid, and Amadeus took home the award for Best Business Practices in job creation. This follows on from last December when our CEO, Luis Maroto, was awarded Expansion’s HR award for the best CEO in the managing people category.

Sabine Hansen Peck, SVP Human Resources, Amadeus IT Group, who received the award commented that “…this award is a further recognition of Amadeus’ efforts to recruit the best talent. During 2016, Amadeus staff growth was amongst the largest in the Ibex 35-listed companies. That increase was mainly due to organic growth of our business, several important acquisitions and the opening of new lines of business. We are also actively engaged in other countries such as France, the United States, Thailand, India and Singapore. Let us keep in mind that Amadeus is one of the 10 largest software companies in the world. We design, create and deploy technology solutions for the travel industry. Amadeus is a very attractive company to work for”.

During the ceremony, Irene Garrido, Spain’s Secretary of State for Economy highlighted the positive correlation between the prosperity of a country’s economy and the success of companies established there. She went on to praise internationalization, diversity and innovation as important elements in the progression of companies.
