Travelers are more concerned than ever with the effects of climate change and they increasingly expect the travel industry to share their concerns. Amadeus has been working with its partners to strengthen sustainability in this regard and our latest initiative highlights our commitment. Amadeus joined forces with Griffith University in Australia, one of the world’s leading academic institutions in tourism studies, to analyse the reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and to discuss climate change in the travel and tourism industry.
Co-authored by both organisations, the research paper Proving the case: Carbon reporting in travel and tourism was officially launched November 11 at the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties
(COP 22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
(UNFCCC) in Marrakesh in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization
(UNWTO) and the United Nations Environment Programme
