This year FISAVET celebrates its 20 year anniversary. It was founded in 1993 and is the regional travel association for West and Central Africa. The Executive President is Prince Ngassa Happi who was one of the two founders. Over the years, we have built up a strong partnership with FISAVET, which in turn has empowered us with a wide-ranging perspective of the possibilities the region offers.

I had the pleasure of attending the West & Central African Federation of Travel Agencies Association’s (FISAVET) 13th Congress in Abidjan, Ivory Coast to discuss how we can foster the economic emergence of the region by taking advantage of technology and I was really happy to see attendees take great interest in our research and our solutions.

During the Congress, we showcased a number of solutions to help leverage industry trends and meet the challenges that our customers face in the CWA region. These include helping travel agencies sell additional content beyond air segments, tools to differentiate themselves and business process management.

In addition to showcasing the Amadeus solutions, we also gave an overview of industry trends, many of which are covered in our recent reportA Digital Savannah: Africa’s e-commerce promise.
