Brighter, Bolder, Better ancillary services for airlines

No two travellers are the same, and even the same traveller may have different needs at different times: today I might need extra baggage allowance; tomorrow I might need lounge access.

"Unbundled" or á la carte airline services are a way of catering to this need. Here's how Damien Paries, Deputy Director of Capacity Management at Corsairfly explains how his airline is approaching the sale of ancillary services.

Corsairfly pilots Amadeus Ancillary Services

At Amadeus we are helping the travel industry manage the additional complexity of offering à la carte services. This year, we are rolling out a series of major initiatives in the roll-out of ancillary services:

  • Corsairfly has begun piloting Amadeus Ancillary Services, which will enable the airline to sell ancillary services on its website and via travel agencies.
  • On 1 June, Amadeus launched its comprehensive Electronic Miscellaneous Document Server (EMD) solution with Finnair. This solution enables airlines to issue, store, manage and distribute Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMD), the industry standard fulfillment document which is vital to the effective sale and management of ancillary services.
