We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
What do you think the future will bring to the corporate travel industry?
At the GBTA Conference in Berlin last month, we caught up with industry players to ask them just that. The variety of answers showed us that there is a lot of room for the industry to develop in order to better meet customers’ needs.
Some of the key trends that were mentioned were the importance of the human factor connecting the different points in the travel chain. Florian Tinnus, Head of Corporate IT at Amadeus, shared his thoughts on this, stating that it isn’t just about data or technology, but about using that technology to connect with people and improve the user experience – a key priority for Amadeus.
Bernd Schulz, General Manager at Amadeus Germany, mentioned the potential growth in store for the industry, as more business travel will be captured by TMCs, and the benefits that this will bring to both travellers and the corporations involved.
Other areas of importance that were highlighted were the gradual merger of the business and leisure travel experience, and the growing awareness of door-to-door concepts. Thomas Osswald, Director, Key Customer Relations at i:FAO Group, comments that he sees door-to-door as a development in the industry, “no revolution but an evolution”.
