We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.

Over the past year, as we celebrated our 30th anniversary, we were able to reflect on how far we’ve come since our beginning as a venture founded by four airlines. We have grown into an innovative global technology company that serves the entire travel ecosystem.
We all share the need to explore our world; to see new places, meet new people or be near what’s important to us. And at Amadeus, powering journeys is at the heart of what we do. We connect travelers to travel agents, search engines, airlines, tour operators, airports, hotels, railways and cruise lines all over the world. Last year, we continued to expand our customer base and global footprint and there are many milestones that are worthy of attention.
We migrated Southwest Airlines’ domestic flights to Altea, and added Malaysia Airlines,Kuwait Airlinesand Flybeto the platform. Air Canadabecame our newest customer for the full suite. We signed or renewed content agreements with 55 airlines in 2017 and also helped many airlines explore other strategies as well as cater to their requirements for improved merchandising capabilities. Premier Innjoined our hospitality business and the world’s first movable check-in kioskswere implemented at Hong Kong International Airport. These achievements and our performance are outlined in the Amadeus Global Report 2017.
In this 5th edition of our global report, we have widened our scope to follow recognized global reporting standards; for example, by analyzing our contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The European Union requires large companies to disclose specific non-financial information relating to environmental, social, human resources and corporate governance issues. These demands are positive for the sustainable growth and health of the travel industry. They serve as motivation for us and we are fully committed to continuously improving our performance.
This year our scores in sustainability indices have been remarkable. First, Amadeus was recognized at the World Economic Forum in Davos as the 16th most sustainable companyin the world by Corporate Knights. This acknowledgment follows our inclusion in the list of the top 100 most sustainable companies the previous year. In 2017 Amadeus was also the highest-scoring company in our sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (composed of 86 companies). Amadeus remained a member of this prestigious sustainability ranking for the sixth consecutive year. Lastly, in 2017 we maintained our leadership status in CDP2 ratings for the second year in a row.
