The 69th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) today unanimously adopted a resolution addressing the conditions under which the IATA NDC (Resolution 787) will be developed.

We are pleased to see that virtually all of the concerns raised by Amadeus in dialogue with IATA during the last year have been addressed in this new resolution voted on by the organisation's 240 member airlines.

Specifically, the new resolution addresses the key issues of backward compatibility, data ownership, the binding nature of Resolution 787, and privacy issues.

And while it still is not clear what this will mean in practice, we welcome this change in approach and position, and we are therefore cautiously optimistic with regard to making this effort a true, collaborative industry effort.

Encouraged by this decision by IATA, we will continue our engagement with airlines, travel agencies, and travel buyers and their trade associations, to ensure that new solutions bring value to the whole distribution value chain.
