Middle East travel agency leverages mobile technology to exploit market gaps

Firos Nattu, General Manager of Qatar based GoMosafer, the online division of Mosafer Travel, is truly an innovator. He spotted a real gap in the Middle Eastern market and took advantage of it by seizing the opportunity to sell via mobile.

While a mobile platform may be an obvious extension for any travel business, Nattu believes that existing travel companies are often reluctant to invest in new technology, that they prefer to stay in their “comfort zones and don’t want to complicate their processes”.

With Amadeus on board, and through roadshows and awareness campaigns, GoMosafer was able to educate customers and show that booking travel via mobile is a secure, easy, and reliable option.

We sat down with Nattu to hear about his passion for travel technology, what he likes most about his job, and the challenges and opportunities ahead. He also shared his views on how a more connected and personalised experience can be delivered to travellers.
