We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
We installed CheckMyTrip on an Android 4.1.2 powered Samsung Galaxy S III model GT-I9300. Size wise the app is relatively small weighing in at 3.03MB – which means it won’t take up much space on phones with limited storage capacity (although the Samsung S III we used in testing has an external SD card slot).
If you haven't seen it before – CheckMyTrip allows you to download and store your trips and their details (flight, car, hotel, train bookings, weather). The application handles trips that are booked through the Amadeus Distribution System, which is used today by leading airlines and travel agencies.
Startup is quick – at just under 3.5 seconds – and the polished UI really shines with an option to check your trip via a reservation number (also called PNR or Record Locator) and your last name on the home screen. You can also register for an account to store all of your trips and review them at a later time. Once you input your reservation number – a blue menu pops up with your trip information – in this case our flight to Munich from Nice, a car reservation in Munich, and a hotel booking.
On top of all your travel info – you can check the weather at your destination, take advantage of the built-in currency convertor, and add photos of your trip. It is also very easy to share the details of your trip with your friends and family.
All trips stored into your CheckMyTrip account are always synchronized regardless of the platform you are using – so you could also use the web version to view your travel plans.
