Adelaide Airport upgrades to Australasia’s first automated airport management system

David Blackwell

Executive General Manager, Customer Service, Adelaide Airport

We have a clear vision to be a top tier airport business centre in Asia Pacific, recognised for delivering exceptional outcomes to our customers, partners, shareholders and community. Technology will be a key enabler in achieving this vision and that is why Adelaide Airport will replace key operational IT systems with automated and scalable systems provided by Amadeus.

The decision to choose Amadeus’ cloud based airport technology was based on our growth plans, which forecasts more than 18 million passengers by 2034. This advanced technology will streamline the management of aircraft parking, boarding gates, check-in desks, customer information, and other mission critical airport terminal services.

With our new terminal hotel about to start construction, the plans for the expansion of the terminal well advanced, as well as additional kiosks and automated baggage systems being deployed, we need the right airport technology partner that can support our growth.

Amadeus’ suite of airport management solutions guarantee the necessary optimisation capabilities for Adelaide Airport to not only manage operations from day one in our existing terminal, but also to continually enhance and evolve operations in line with our needs and growth plans.

I am delighted that Adelaide Airport will be the first airport in Australasia to use these cloud hosted management systems, solidly positioning us as a leader in airport operational data management.
