We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
Amadeus Germany and Traveltainment take another step forward in towards implementation of the EU Package Travel Directive: Amadeus Form Wizard will integrate the forms required by the directive into the consultation process of travel agents and online travel agencies in a software-assisted way. The forms document the type of the offered trip and the related consumer rights.
Bad Homburg/Wuerselen, 25 January 2018 – Stationary travel agencies will create the forms within the Amadeus Selling Platform, thus they are not bound to use a mid office system. The cooperation of all participants is necessary so that the requirements of the directive can be correctly implemented at the counter. The Amadeus Form Wizard is only able to give a correct result if tour operators deliver appropriate information, e. g. the identification as a package tour, and if travel agents enter information on the consultation. On this basis, the Amadeus Form Wizard will be able to decide, for example, if a form is required and, if so, which one.
“The Amadeus Form Wizard by Amadeus and Traveltainment brings the implementation of the EU Package Travel Directive a big step forward – and the first reactions within the industry are very positive”, says Uta Martens, General Manager at Amadeus Germany. “Of course, the new regulation means extra work in the distribution of travel. However, our solution will ensure that the extra work is kept to a minimum through a maximum of automation.”
“Online travel agencies with the Traveltainment IBE, who do not develop their own technical solution for the implementation of the EU Package Travel Directive, also have the option to use the Amadeus Form Wizard”, says Dr. Oliver Rengelshausen, General Manager at Traveltainment. „This ensures that their online customers are advised based on the new requirements.“
Amadeus and Traveltainment will present a first version of the Amadeus Form Wizard during ITB Berlin 2018: hall 5.1, booth 115.
