Amadeus Southern Africa’s Senior Manager Customer Services
Immanuel Banza welcomes Mauritius to the Amadeus family.
Back in 1992 Mauritius was the first country Amadeus entered in Africa through a distribution agreement with Air Mauritius. Now over 20 years later, we’ve taken full ownership of the Mauritius operation under the umbrella ofAmadeus Southern Africa.
Over the past few months, we've been preparing the launch and this week we celebrated with the official opening of our new Mauritius office. The Mauritius team will be led by newly appointed Country Manager Fiona Rajah Gopal, who has many years of experience in the Mauritius travel and tourism sectors. From the office in Port Louis, Fiona and her team will offer local call centre, training and IT support to the travel agency community.
On Tuesday evening the travel industry turned out in force to commemorate this important milestone with the attendance of over 100 travel agency owners and managers as well as other key industry stakeholders. During Thursday, we invited over 125 travel consultants to preview and familiarise themselves with some of the products and services that we will be introducing into the Mauritius market over the coming months.
We’re pleased to welcome Mauritius as the latest addition to the Amadeus family! We’re keen to learn from the travel agency community in Mauritius as well as to share best practices from our many years of experience in travel and technology in Africa.
