What is Amadeus doing with cloud technology?
Amadeus has created a cloud-based, common use platform so ground handlers can connect to multiple airline departure control systems through a single, web-enabled device.
- Amadeus ACUS is used in 22 airports around the world.
- It supports the operations of +140 airlines globally.
Launched in 2014 in collaboration with Red Hat, is a cloud-based application platform and represents a major step towards Platform-as-a-Service (PAAS). This new architecture gives us a powerful framework to deploy and distribute operations for large-scale transactional and data traffic.
Amadeus Selling Platform Connect is our cloud-based point of sale solution for travel agencies.
- It enables travel agents to work on-the-go, so they can stay connected to customers 100% of the time.
-With access to wide and varied content, agents can offer a better service to their customers and boost agency revenues from service fees and commissions.
Amadeus Cloud Property Management is a next-generation PMS for hotels.
- Cloud-native technology means no on-site hardware or server maintenance is required.

Open Source
How does Open Source open up new opportunities?
It enhances collaboration and increases flexibility. Open Source software is fundamental to Amadeus’ cloud computing vision and it benefits custom‑ers in many ways, including improved response time and resilience of Amadeus’ core computing functions; the ability to host third party applications via software APIs; and improved time‑to‑market.

Amadeus is undergoing a transformation in its systems to bring the true benefits of the latest cloud computing advances to its customers, and Open Source is underpinning this transformation. We are pioneering the Inner Source philosophy in the travel industry. This opens source code to developers within a company, allowing a larger community to collaborate, test and improve open source code, before it is used externally.
