I am sure that you are, like my travel management team and I, busy preparing for a ‘new normal’ environment, when employees will return to business travel.
The latest poll of The Global Business Travel Association members indicates areturn to business travelwith two-third of respondents stating that their employees are willing or very willing to return to the skies. Our own Amadeusstudy also brought this idea home. It found that over 84% of business travelers are eager to travel with the correct safety measures in place. As these studies show, travelers are happy to return to travel if the required conditions are in place. Based on this and seeing the evolution of the vaccine roll-out, it’s only a matter of time before we see business travelers taking to the skies again.
As travel managers, we have to be quick on our feet with changing regulations relating to the pandemic and ensure we keep our employees informed and looked after on business trips. Travel bubbles, health passports, protective equipment -- all of these were not part of our vocabulary last time we designed our travel policy. Today we are working hard to be on top of all of these so that we can meet our duty-of-care towards employees and rebuild our travelers’ trust. And we are not doing this alone.
There are multiple areas - HR, Finance, Risk & Compliance and Legal - that we must keep abreast of in this current environment.
Over the past month at Amadeus, we have been working to put together a comprehensive checklist of things travel managers will need when business travel resumes. We would like to share this with you as you get ready to send your employees back on the road. We have created some necessary guides, forms and explanations that we hope will ease your workload and still keep you on top of things.

Here's wishing you all a safe return to 'business as usual' whenever that time comes for you and your business!
