This is the ninth blog in our COVID-19 series where we explore what Amadeus is doing to support our customers across the business during this difficult time.
The unprecedented challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world as we know it. Though we cannot predict the future, we are hopeful that travel will resume soon.
For businesses, whilst video conferencing is the norm lately, we all know the value of face-to-face meetings and hope to have these again soon.
In time, as we start returning to our offices and begin to travel for work again – even if it’s different to how we’ve done so in the past – it will be crucial for organizations across the globe to have the right tools and data available for ensuring everyone’s safety and well-being. Withduty of care and risk assessmentbecoming key components of travel policies, corporations will need to have reliable and actionable risk intelligence, which can be shared with employees and travelers on the road in real-time.
Looking at this pressing need, Amadeus has partnered with world-leading travel security and risk consultant,Riskline, to integrate specific COVID-19 related information withinAmadeus Mobile Messenger, our risk management solution for corporations.
Since the beginning of the year, Riskline* has been closely tracking the development of the COVID-19 outbreak and communicating in real-time the intelligence to its clients and partners via alert messages, travel advisories, special reports and informer articles.
“To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Never has there been a greater need for immediate access to 24/7 travel security and risk content than in the midst of a pandemic. We are committed to helping companies keep their employees safe and business continuity plans on track through vital information. By partnering with Amadeus, we’re helping even more companies enhance their travel risk management programs, ensuring they can meet their duty of care obligations,” said, Emanuele Scansani, Director of Partnerships at Riskline.
So that Amadeus’ corporate customers using Amadeus Mobile Messenger receive this critical information while we all navigate COVID-19, Amadeus has integrated real-time status and alerts about specific regions and countries at risk, a map showing where the virus is spreading, the latest travel restrictions, information on borders closing and opening, and much more.
Here is an example of the map showing the spread of the virus in Europe:
This means companies and their travel managers can follow, in real-time, the evolution of the current situation in one tool. And, as the current situation hopefully improves, it will be easier for corporations to identify when employees can travel and to which countries.
Ultimately, keeping companies informed and aiding them to fulfill their duty of care requirements helps ensure travelers are safe throughout their journey and delivers valuable peace of mind to all when it is needed the most.
