Amadeus and GTMC ink 2019 partnership to unlock new opportunities for UK TMCs

The renewal of the GTMC partnership agreement marks a new chapter for business travel agents to continue to prosper in a very dynamic environment

There’s no doubt about it, business travel is vital to making business happen.  The business travel market globally shows no sign of slowing down, valued at $1.33 trillion in 2017 (£39bn in UK alone) with a predicted increase of 3.7% per annum over the next ten years*.

It’s against this backdrop, that Amadeus and the GTMC (Guild of Travel Management Companies) renew a long-standing industry partnership, working together to champion the industry for all.

Together Amadeus and GTMC aim to provide practical solutions to challenges and cross-industry issues so business travel is more convenient, cost-effective, and provides growth opportunities for all players. The close partnership facilitates strong networking capabilities through discussion, strategy groups and industry lobbying and proposal of new thinking, to move the sector forward and share best practice.

As business traveller habits and the expectations of corporations continue to evolve at a rapid pace, TMCs, travel suppliers and their technology partners have an important role to champion both the needs of the industry and the end traveller themselves. With a membership that includes more than 90% of all managed business travel agents in the UK, the GTMC works alongside its members and industry partners to raise the profile of the vital role that business travel has on the broader economy.

GTMC’s network combined with Amadeus’ strength in technology and expertise in all fields of business travel means that together they provide the required tools and knowledge for TMCs in the UK.  Amadeus is a leading investor in Research and Development in the travel and technology sector, investing €5.4+ billion on R&D programs across the entire travel ecosystem since 2004. Its tools allow TMCs to deliver superior service that helps their customers and travellers get the most out of business travel.
