Companies in the travel industry have been talking about the one-stop-shop experience – to offer ‘door to door’ booking possibilities in one place - for a long time. I think it’s a good thing since it’s easier to serve and upsell to existing customers than finding new ones. Naturally, we want to make it easier for travel agents to create this experience for travelers.
Content is king
This might sound like a cliché, but for us it’s the real deal. Or perhaps we’d rather say that relevant content is king? This is also key for travel agencies.

Wait, did I hear NDC?
For those of you who are still in denial that NDC is going to impact your business, trust me it’s going to disrupt the travel industry big time. Maybe not today or tomorrow but in the long run.
For the time being and for years to come, GDS and NDC will live happily side by side. But over time it could be that travel agencies has to collect the airfare data from several different sources. Distribution costs is one part of the discussion but, more importantly, the airline wants to target the travelers directly even more in the future.
Since IATA started with NDC, there has been a question mark hanging over how the airlines will get their content to the travel agency, without a GDS or aggregator as a ‘middleman’.

When I meet with small and medium-sized travel agencies in Scandinavia, many of them are stressed about losing a large chunk of their business (airline tickets).
