Over the past 30 years, we’ve been connecting travelers to the journeys they want. Today, we are taking the next step in doing this with the Air France-KLM group, which has signed a private channel agreement with us, as well as an agreement to cooperate towards an NDC connectivity between the airline group and the Amadeus Travel Platform.
The private channel agreement means that Amadeus travel seller customers which have a private channel deal with Air France-KLM will be able to access content through Amadeus’ global distribution system without the additional surcharge, which started to be levied from 1st April 2018.
In parallel, we have agreed with Air France-KLM to cooperate towards making the airline group’s NDC content available through the Amadeus travel platform. This sets the framework for a sustainable, long‐term solution to distribute NDC content to Amadeus’ travel seller customers.

At Amadeus, we believe that travelers today are looking for consistency, transparency, and choice. As an industry, we can deliver that best by connecting all players, and by providing all content in all channels. This is why we are evolving our travel platform.
The Amadeus Travel platform is robust and built on open systems. It will bring together all types of travel content, including NDC, proprietary APIs, EDIFACT (the technology standard that GDSs use today) and other aggregated content into a single source. This content can then be distributed via any channel or device, allowing comparisons and bookings to happen in a uniform and transparent way.
NDC content is a key part of the Amadeus Travel Platform. We believe that the sky is the limit when it comes to NDC, which could revolutionize how travel is bought and sold. NDC is also an important part of the journey of digital transformation that all players in the travel industry are embarking on. This agreement with the Air France-KLM group is proof of our commitment to help both airlines and travel sellers on that journey through the strength of our technology.
