I remember walking into the two floor office - one of which was totally empty - and beginning an exciting journey with a few dozen others. There was a lot of excitement and a distinct sense of family amongst the tight knit group back then - and I can still sense that excitement and camaraderie today.
Editor’s Note: It’s been 25 years since Amadeus was founded and in celebration of this special occasion we’re recognising employees who have been with us from the beginning. Throughout the week this blog will feature posts by longtime Amadeus employees – giving them an opportunity to reflect on their experiences here.
It’s hard to believe that it has been 25 years already - it seems like just yesterday I was joining the Corporate Communications team here in Madrid.
Since then I’ve moved from Corporate Communications to HR and to Quality Management where I am today and during that time I’ve realized what makes Amadeus great; the people.
The people I’ve met during my 25 year journey here have come from all over the world and they all have done their very best and most importantly challenged their co-workers to truly be excellent. To me this is what makes Amadeus the successful company it is today.
I look back on our great accomplishments - opening the Erding Data Centre, being the first GDS to achieve ISO 9000 certification, and growing from a small team to a world-wide entity - and realize that all of these things were made possible due to the hard work of the people of Amadeus. The people who pulled through great challenges, the people who were constantly striving to be better, and the people who always wanted to learn more.
It is with this knowledge that I am sure that the future will hold even more successes for many years to come.
