Amadeus UK used this annual showcase to reveal the latest innovations in self-booking, mobile and duty of care technologies. We summed it up this way: connected travel made simple. We also launched two new added-value services for Corporate and Travel Management Company (TMC) partners in the UK; an online reseller portal for TMCs called ‘The Toolkit’ and a Health Check app for corporate buyers.
London’s Olympia exhibition centre has put on some shows in its time. Phineas T. Barnum’s ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ in 1889, the first ever World Scout Jamboree in 1920 and the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1967 standing out as a few of the notable events from its venerable past. February this year saw theBusiness Travel Show move to this new home, which is Europe's largest exhibition and conference for buyers and managers of business travel. In tandem, Travel Technology Europe takes place on the gallery level at the same time and in the same venue.
The Corporate Health Check app is a user-friendly way for travel buyers and travel managers to begin evaluating their online travel booking adoption rates. Guided by a team of Amadeus’ online booking tool clinicians, it helps corporations to fine-tune programmes and boost online adoption which is proven to drive down the costs of business travel.
In a complementary role, the reseller Toolkit brings together valuable Amadeus e-Travel Management resources into one handy online portal to help TMCs and their customers drive efficiencies and improvements across travel programmes. The Toolkit allows both sales and IT support staff to leverage a database of useful content, including marketing materials, video tutorials, instruction manuals and more.
Running alongside the Business Travel Show is its partner exhibition, Travel Technology Europe, billed as the only event of its kind specialising in technology, e-commerce systems and software for the leisure travel industry. At Amadeus, we recognise that every travel business is unique in some way, having individual approaches and strategies that use technology to enable differentiation and competitive advantage. Put simply, one size doesn’t fit all.
Our approach to this diverse marketplace has been the development of a family of front office sales solutions for leisure travel. At the event we demonstrated award-winning technology that has been designed to meet the needs of traditional travel agents, online travel agents, home workers, cruise bookers, as well as those looking to increase sales and deliver customer service via the mobile channel. This has been made possible by Amadeus' leading investment in Research and Development. When you have so much to talk about across business and leisure travel, two days flies by very quickly.
