In just a click when booking on Avianca.com, travelers will be able to donate $1, $5, or $10 USD, which goes directly to the UNICEF Regional Education program in Latin America. This micro-donation engine, made possible through Amadeus technology, will contribute to quality education and universal learning spaces for underprivileged children and adolescents in countries around the region.
The Click for Change campaign is a powerful example of how technology and the reach of global travel can impact projects for social development. The campaign has already raised more than $2,800,000 USD by giving travelers the option to donate when finalizing their purchase of an airline ticket. Avianca is confident that our participation will help boost this number even more to make a real difference in the lives of children in Latin America.
But this is just the beginning. We encourage other travel players in Latin America to adopt the free-of-charge donation engine, which can be connected to any online travel retailer that wishes to raise funds for UNICEF’s program.
