We’re creating a more connected travel industry, underpinned by sustainability and long-term investor relations.
Following on from our look at the check-in and boarding stage of the travel chain, our video series now focuses on when the traveller is 'on the move'.
As a traveller, I always want the best possible service and experience during my journey. And it’s comforting to know that, thanks to mobile technology, travel information is always at my finger tips and stays with me every step of the way.
That’s what this video is all about.
When I’m on the move I check work e-mail on my BlackBerry and then I use my iPad to access social network sites so I can stay in touch with family and friends. Mobile is almost everywhere.
I was looking at Amadeus’ Amateur Expert Traveller report the other day. It says that one third of consumers see mobile as more important to their trip than social media, user reviews, video sharing or any other media or technology. Amazing – and something to think about if we want to improve the travel experience.
And we’re not just limited to air travel. I recently read about the rise in the use of mobile technology in the rail industry with an explosion of new rail apps around Europe like the one we’ve launched at Amadeus.
It’s clear that mobile is a key part of the travel experience on the move. As a leisure traveller I benefit from access to trip and destination information.
When I travel for work I’m only one click away from contact with my travel manager in case anything happens. And with Amadeus’ recent global re-seller agreement with conTgo things will get better and better for the corporate traveller.
There's far more to the travel experience than just the journey, with mobile technology solutions helping to make travel more convenient and enjoyable for everyone involved.
