Head of Airport IT, Amadeus IT Group
North America is the biggest Airport IT market in the world, and as economic recovery picks up over the next few years, it will present an enormous opportunity for growth. The acquisition of AirIT immediately transforms Amadeus into a well-established airport industry player in the region, ready to take advantage of these growth opportunities.
This deal accelerates the expansion of Amadeus’ airport IT business in a crucial market for our strategy of growth and diversification. It brings a highly experienced team of around 70 employees, who already share a similar culture of innovation, allowing Amadeus to have a fully functional team in the region from day one.
It also brings a solid customer base, as AirIT solutions are used by 30 of the top 50 busiest airports in the United States, including Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and Charlotte. In total, more than 115 airlines and 120 airports are customers of AirIT, predominately in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
Last, but not least, AirIT brings a key missing piece to our portfolio of solutions. It’s more and more frequent that airports seek property and revenue management systems when reviewing their IT solutions for airport management systems. AirIT PROPworks portfolio is a solution for airports of all size that allows for management of contracts, sales, invoices, tenants and more, and is already in use by four of the five busiest airports in the United States.
With the addition of PROPworks, Amadeus will be able to be more responsive to the needs of customers outside of North America by combining it with our existing airport management solutions.
